Our Chosen Charity
At every AGM our members nominate and vote for a local Manchester-based charity to support for the year through our monthly raffle and charity collections.
Our chosen charity for 2023/24 is Manchester Central Library Development Trust. This means that from July 2023 onwards, all proceeds from our monthly raffle will be donated to the charity.
Manchester Central Library Development Trust (registered charity no. 1150161) supported Central Library’s major transformation, raising essential funds for new furniture and equipment, and for educational and cultural programming. It has helped the library become a popular, lively and dynamic destination, since re-launching in 2014. The Trust’s main priority now is to help raise funds to support exciting new educational and cultural activities. Trust support helps Central Library and Manchester Libraries develop innovative ways or working with new partners and audiences, helping to expand and build on programme successes and supporting sustainability in the years ahead.

During our monthly meetings (not a euphemism), we also have an ongoing call for donations of sanitary products to pass on to Every Month, a Manchester-based charity working to tackle period poverty by distributing Every Month packs, which contain tampons, pads and a chocolate bar, so that people living in poverty can have free access to menstrual products.
