Our Chosen Charity
At every AGM our members nominate and vote for a local Manchester-based charity to support for the year through our monthly raffle and charity collections.
Our chosen charity for 2022/23 is Humans MCR. This means that from July 2022 onwards, all proceeds from our monthly raffle will be donated to the charity.
Humans MCR analyses and responds to the root causes of poverty and works to give respect, health, dignity and hope to those in our communities. Their mission is to change lives in communities across Greater Manchester by providing access to food and education to build a healthy, hunger-free future. They use a suite of short and long-term solutions that tackle food insecurity, from distributing emergency food parcels to those in need using their own food distribution network to providing weekly groceries at a reduced price.

During our monthly meetings (not a euphemism), we also have an ongoing call for donations of sanitary products to pass on to Every Month, a Manchester-based charity working to tackle period poverty by distributing Every Month packs, which contain tampons, pads and a chocolate bar, so that people living in poverty can have free access to menstrual products.
