Manchester WI strongly adheres to the belief that all women and non-binary people have a place in the Women’s Institute and follow the mission set out by the NFWI: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

We want to empower women and non-binary people of all backgrounds and create a supportive environment in which they can thrive. Opportunities are open and available to all members and we aim to make activities and meetings as inclusive as possible. For us this means not only stating that our doors are open to all, but to actively strive to make sure that our members are heard, seen and accommodated for. We use an inclusive definition of "woman", our events are for all cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experience of women. Manchester WI welcomes all women and non-binary people regardless of their age, race, physical ability, ethnicity, and sexual orientation.

Members who would find it easier to attend our meetings with an interpreter, carer, or personal assistant for accessibility reasons are welcome to do so with no extra fee.
