About the Event
Manchester’s fascinating heritage and alliances have been commemorated with many statues and sculptures – but how much do we know about them and, in our busy lives, how often do travel past these works of art without a second glance?
We are thrilled that one of our members, who is a Manchester tour guide, has offered to run our annual summer 'school trip'. Sheila will be giving us a walking and wheelchair accessible tour of Manchester, with a focus on scultpures. The route has been designed with accessibility considerations in mind.
In person details:
If you would like to attend this meeting in person, please join us at Methodist Central Hall, Oldham Street. Please select a (free) ticket for the event to let us know which tour you would like to join - group A will be leaving our venue at 6:20, and group B will be leaving the venue at 7:30. Each tour will last about an hour, and whilst the tours are running we will be running a pub quiz, social and bake sale in our normal room at Methodist Central Buildings.
We will be running our ever-popular bake-sale, so please bring along a bake, and also some cash/change. Our baking theme for this month is 'packed lunch'.
