October Main Meeting

With Covid-19 scuppering our chances to get dressed up and head out on Halloween night, why not take this opportunity to get spooky with your WI Sisters instead? Everyone who logs onto this month's meeting in fancy dress gets entered into a Prize Draw to win small prize!  Bring along your carved punkins too, we'd love to see them!

And while we're all dressed up, lets have some fun in the kitchen. We’re not not being serious bakers this week, it’s all about having a bit of fun! We're going to be doing a bit of biscuit decorating and it's up to you how technical you get. We'll be demonstrating some basic techniques with Royal Icing with an ice-along followed by some interactive speed icing challenges! No-one is expecting perfection, it's all about the experience!

What you’ll need:

• Food Colouring
• Any sprinkles or things you like to decorate with
• Biscuits to practice on! A classic digestive or rich tea would do the trick nicely!

For Royal Icing:

• 500g Icing Sugar
• 15g Powdered egg whites
• 90ml water

• Premade Royal Icing in a Tub

-or-

• Royal Icing icing sugar mix

-or-

• Writing icing in tubes of you just want a play!

Tools:

• Disposable piping bags
• Mixing bowls and small tubs
• Mixing spoon
• Tea spoons
