Formed in May 2012, Manchester Women’s Institute provides a modern take on the traditional W.I.

 

Our group is made up of women of all ages who come together  to enjoy monthly meetings on all sorts of topics - we've had comedians, talked about women in politics and the music industry, turned our hands to burlesque, and had a chocolate tasting evenings. We've been on Manchester City Centre walking tours, visited the Printworks bee hives, and written our own poetry - there's something for everyone!

Our committee and many subgroups have put together an exciting programme for this year, which includes bakes, books, crafts, inspiring speakers, and the chance to learn new skills. All this in a friendly, open and non-judgemental environment to make new friends and get together with old friends too.  

We are an active member of the Manchester community, and support and work with local businesses and charities We have even teamed up with Runaway Brewery and launched a special Manchester W.I. x Runaway Brewery Lady Grey IPA.  

At every main meeting there's a speaker or an activity as well as a chance to catch up with other members over a cup of tea. We also have regular sub-group meetings and arrange other meetings too!
